Who We Are

Therapeutic Process

Our experience enables us to offer effective and confidential outpatient, individualized, therapy and care. We treat a number of mental health and addiction issues, and provide a neutral ground to individuals and their family members.

Treatment Focus

Our focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan.

Patient Promise

Facing our most inner struggles can be a scary thought. We promise to walk along beside you and be there for you every step of your journey. Our goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.

Shame and Anxiety

Guilt, shame, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover inner motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had  and deserve in your life.

Developmental Trauma & PTSD

Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances, some of which may stem from early childhood trauma, an isolated incident or workplace environment. Anxiety, shame, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We will explore family of origin and entrenched core beliefs. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.

Addiction impacts the entire family. Although seeking help can be scary, therapy can be beneficial to individuals and family members who are struggling to work through, rebuild and re-establish an overall healthier lifestyle, wellness and boundaries.  Topics such as creating a recovery and relapse prevention plan, harm reduction strategies, opioid replacement therapies will be explored as needed.  On your road to recovery we will explore underlying issues that contributed to addiction, strengthening emotional connections, rebuilding a sense of self and strengthening your relationships.

Meet Melissa Gauthier

Welcome to the next chapter in your journey

Do you remember who you were before the world told you who you should be?

My name is Melisssa Gauthier and I'm a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) as well as a Canadian Certified Addiction Counsellor with the Canadian Addiction Counsellor Certification Federation (CACCF). I have been working in the field of Addictions and Mental health for 18 years with a primary focus on working with individuals experiencing a variety of issues such as addiction, substance use, trauma, ADD/ADHD, family of origin and the impact of addiction on the family unit. I also have extensive experience working with individuals struggling with substance dependence, opioid addiction and opioid replacement therapy.

In recent years my work has focused on supporting individuals struggling with developmental trauma, PTSD and First Responders and the impact that has on our mental health, addiction and overall wellness. This includes exploring and rebuilding a stronger sense of self, learning new coping strategies to heal from trauma and addiction and creating an overall sense of wellness.

I believe that supporting empowerment gives individuals an opportunity to trust in themselves, to see that they can stop the chaos and regain control in their lives, creating an opportunity to explore their own needs and wants.
